Lo splendido volume EZIO GRIBAUDO – La Bellezza ci salverà, edito da Skira, ad opera di Adriano Olivieri e Silvana Nota è la nuova edizione della monografia EZIO GRIBAUDO – Il mio teatro della memoria, edito nel 2009.
Là dove, la versione precedente poneva in copertina un primo piano della mano dell’artista, quella del nuovo volume lo vede al centro del proprio studio-universo, quasi a voler indicare il passaggio dal gesto alla pura essenza della sua arte.
Gribaudo (Torino 1929 – Torino 2022) è stato artista ed editore di spicco grazie a solidi studi svolti presso l’Accademia di Brera ed al Politecnico di Torino; motore pulsante di una stagione artistica che l’ha posto a contatto con personaggi di massima rilevanza storica quali: Chagall, de Chirico, Fontana, Guggenheim, solo per citarne alcuni.
Tuttavia, il suo percorso lo ha spinto verso un’dentità professionale unica, utilizzando media e tecniche disparati che gli hanno consentito di esporre le sue opere nei più importanti musei del mondo.
EZIO GRIBAUDO – La Bellezza ci salverà è la ricostruzione puntuale di un’intera carriera, attraverso ricerche d’archivio, materiale iconografico edito ed inedito, nonché numerose interviste per consentire al lettore di indagare il fulcro di un’esistenza interamente dedicata alla bellezza sottolineando quanto, al di là del suggerimento nel titolo, sia stato Gribaudo stesso a salvarla – nel tempo esteso del suo operato – con l’eterna devozione ad un’arte inimitabile e magistrale.

The splendid book EZIO GRIBAUDO – La Bellezza ci salverà (EZIO GRIBAUDO – Beauty Will Save Us), published by Skira, by Adriano Olivieri and Silvana Nota is the new edition of the monographic work EZIO GRIBAUDO – Il mio teatro della memoria (EZIO GRIBAUDO – My Theatre of Memory), published in 2009.
Where the previous version placed a close-up of the artist’s hand on the cover, the new volume sees him at the centre of his studio-universe, as if to indicate the passage from the gesture to the pure essence of his art.
Gribaudo (Turin 1929 – Turin 2022) was an outstanding artist and publisher, thanks to solid studies at the Brera Academy and Turin Polytechnic; as well as the driving force behind an artistic season that brought him into contact with figures of the utmost historical importance such as: Chagall, de Chirico, Fontana, Guggenheim, to name but a few.
However, his path has pushed him towards a unique professional dentity, using disparate media and techniques, that have allowed him to exhibit his works in the most important museums in the world.
EZIO GRIBAUDO – La bellezza ci salverà is the timely reconstruction of an entire career, through archive research, published and unpublished iconographic material, and numerous interviews to allow the reader to investigate the fulcrum of an existence entirely dedicated to beauty, emphasising how, beyond the suggestion in the title, it was Gribaudo himself who saved it – in the extended time of his work – with his eternal devotion to an inimitable and masterful art.
